Focus Fridays

Nevada’s history as a state is tied to the mining industry, a dark and dangerous undertaking. The 19th and 20th centuries saw the development of safer technologies to light the way in mines and similar industries. Explore the history of mining lamps, hard hats, and other technologies on display in the Permanent Gallery, and in not-on-exhibit objects brought up from Collections.

Every 2nd Friday of the Month you can visit the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas and enjoy themed museum experiences, offering guided gallery tours, collection highlights, and hands-on activities centered on a focused topic. Walk-ins are welcome.
