School Field Trips

Connect Your Class to Nevada History
Bring your students to the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas for a hands-on learning experience aligned with K–12 Nevada Academic Content Standards in Social Studies and Science.

All school field trips include free admission for students, teachers, and chaperones, with exhibits that highlight Nevada’s natural environment and cultural history.

Planning a non-school group visit?
For tours not affiliated with a school or classroom, please email infonsmlv@nevadaculture.org to coordinate your visit.

Field Trip Guidelines

  • Available Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays
  • Groups visiting only the Nevada State Museum can begin at 9:00 a.m.
  • Groups also visiting the Springs Preserve must begin at 10:00 a.m.
  • Groups must be supervised at all times (1 chaperone per 10 students)

School groups with more than 50 students or planning to visit both the Nevada State Museum and Springs Preserve must also book directly through the Springs Preserve’s website and coordinate staggered entry for groups of 50 or fewer with Springs Preserve.

Booking Your Field Trip

  • All school field trips require a reservation
  • Booking for the 2025–2026 school year opens in early August
  • To receive a notification when booking opens, email educationnsmlv@nevadaculture.org

Groups visiting the Nevada State Museum will be welcomed at the entrance with a brief orientation. Entry is limited to 50 students at a time, and all students must remain under the supervision of teachers or designated chaperones throughout the visit. Confirming Your Reservation

Once your field trip is approved, you will receive a Field Trip Confirmation & Guidelines packet. All participating educators and chaperones must review and agree to these guidelines in order to confirm their booking. You are responsible for your group’s compliance and the distribution of the guideline’s information.

Enhance Your Visit

Guided tours and staff-led activities (for groups of 50 or fewer) are available as add-ons and must be requested during your initial reservation with three weeks advance notice. Bus Transportation Reimbursement Available

Nevada public schools may be eligible for bus reimbursement to visit a state museum. Funds are limited and distributed on a first come, first served basis. For details, email educationnsmlv@nevadaculture.org or click here.
