TRAVELING TRUNKS

Reservations for trunks for school year 2021/2022 are now closed. Watch this page for news to book for next school year.
We know field trips are not always possible, and for that reason, the museum has created a variety of Traveling Trunks about the history and natural history of Nevada specifically for educators. Trunk materials include touchable artifacts, curriculum objectives, photographs, videos, books, posters, readings, and more.
Trunks are free to use for two weeks at a time and delivered to schools in the Las Vegas Valley for free too – thanks to the Friends of NSMLV!
Each trunk focuses on an aspect of human and natural history with related study guides, state standards and ideas about activities to help incorporate the topic into the classroom. Some trunks now have information available online, such as videos and study guides; just click on the title below to find out more.
- Artifacts & Fossils
- Black History in Las Vegas
- Children Past & Present
- Las Vegas Civil Rights (trunk honoring Claytee White)
