Description
Write the Story You Haven’t Told

This 90-minute per session over six consecutive weeks (July 7, 14, 21, 28, Aug 4, 11 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the museum) is for 55+ community, whether they are beginning writers, seasoned writers, authors of all genres, and even self-proclaimed “non-writers”!
You don’t have to have the skills of an award-winning writer, or even be a writer, to be the author of your own story. Wherever you are on your writing (or desire to write) journey, instructor Joylynn M. Ross will meet you there, then help get you to your final destination of either completing a writing piece (depending on where you are with your current work in progress), or help you build the foundation to complete a project.
It can be fiction, nonfiction, or even a personal narrative. Whatever piece of creating writing that flows through your heart, soul, spirit, and beautiful mind, this program will provide the dedicated time, tools, and space for you to pen it. And where better to have that take place than in a museum, where inspiration and undiscovered friends await you?
In addition to the 6 week course, included there is a culminating event for friends and family held the evening of Thursday 18th August.
All writing materials will be provided, and there is just a one-time fee of $40 for the course and final event, payable on the first day of the program that goes directly to funding further adult and educational programs at the museum. The program is made possible by the support of the Nevada Arts Council, the National Endowment of the Arts, the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) and E.A. Michelson Philanthropy.
This course is now closed to new participants.
